march 23, 1931: remember bhagat singh, sukhdev and rajguru

mar 22nd

i was traveling yesterday on the spring equinox. so i couldnt post this.

tomorrow is the day on which 75 years ago, bhagat singh, sukhdev and rajguru were hanged by the british.

please spend a moment remembering these heros.

when i think of the gadar party, 1942, the komagata maru, these martyrs, kalapani in the andamans, i have tears in my eyes.

they fought for an idea of india, of a great nation and a great culture.

they did not fight for what 50 years of the nehruvian penalty has converted this country into: a pale shadow of what it could have been. a make-believe country with no self-image. vaastuhara: bereft of even identity, in addition to vastuhara: dispossessed of our patrimony, our heritage, our paitrkam, that which our pitrs left us.
