burmese natural gas: china gets the girl, india is the sporting loser

mar 23rd, 2007

the indian cricket team's motto ("we are not here to win, we are here to participate") applies to the UPA government as well.

as agworld pointed out earlier, the burmese are going to build a pipeline to china. here the atlanticist analyzes why. i'll add another reason: indian preaching about aung san suu kyii. nobody likes holier-than-thou pontificators. this is exactly the same way the chinese are winning all those oil and gas contracts in africa as well, by simply dealing with dictators, child-molesters etc. in foreign policy, one has to hold one's nose and deal with the reality.

the only hope is that non-hydrocarbon sources of energy become a reality soon. solar, that's what we need.
