1650 bullets, 1579 casualties. unarmed crowd celebrating baisakhi.

nobody has ever asked for reparations. unlike the chinese shaking down the japanese to the tune of billions for the 'rape of nanking'.

90 days ago today. i wonder if manmohan singh will spend a sleepless night about this.
of course not, it was only sikhs and hindus who were slaughtered.

see my old column from exactly 10 years ago:

the sikh gurus were complete and absolute Hindus. Guru Gobind Singh moulded the Khalsa as a kind of "Hindu storm troopers" to fight Muslim oppression.
Unfortunately, somewhere along the line, Sikhism lost its "Indic" moorimgs and is currently more of a semitic religion than an Indic one -- one God, one book, a dislike for idol worship (scenes from Hindu scriptures in the Golden Temple were recently whitewashed), an entrenched clergy, excommunication, etc etc etc. And like all Hindus who go over to the semitic fold, the sikhs too (especially the clergy) need to assert their identity by attacking Hinduism (especially Brahmins). This is the sad reality of sikhs. The process of moving away from its Hindu roots started in the nineteenth century with (naturally) a little bit of help from the limeys.
