the reality is that the bangladeshi mohammedans have been the aggressors in assam all along. they have simply squatted in india and bred like flies. complete demographic warfare. of course - they are doing it to prove manmohan wrong - it is bangladeshi muslims, not indian muslims who have first right on india's resources

No matter what this (s)limey moron says, the Bodos are largely converted christists. Hindus in Assam are a disenfranchised demographic. They may comprise a nominal statistical "majority", but
have practically NO say in affairs, sort of like disenfranchised Hindus in Kerala. The Bodo violence in Assam was therefore, largely Bodo christist attacks on "Bangladeshi"
Mohammedan infiltrators. Not necessarily a bad thing if they can finish off each other and the psecs and help the poor Hindus survive.

As a disclaimer, I'll mention that my mother's mother was Assamese Hindu, although I've never kept in touch with the Assamese side of the family. With MNS boiling up in Mumbai, one wonders if Maharashtra will head that way, too.
the plan to change the demographic profile of north-east india by resettling it with east bengali (later) bangladeshi muslims goes back to British India and was conceived by a number of muslim elite of bengal and assam -- Sir Sadullah (premier of Assam till February 11, 1946) being one of them. Another such muslim - interestingly -was F A Ahmed who later made it to the Rashtrapathi bhawan kind courtesy I Gandhi.
Interestingly Assam was almost awarded to Pakistan during the dvision of the country but it did not happen due to the efforts of Gopinath Bordoloi (first cm of assam) and other patriots.
Frankly speaking, the situation now in Assam is beyond any repair. Only large-scale & drastic deportation of the illegal migrants can salvage this unfortunate part of the country, which is slowly being lost thanks to the f****** kanngress party.
