Barkha's Bark and Bite

Barkha Dutt and NDTV have decided to sue a blogger for defamation, after he criticized her behaviour during her "reporting" on the Mumbai attacks:

Here's another article which also drew attention to Barkha's widely-discussed behaviour:

Maybe NDTV should likewise sue those who published that article, too -- oh, wait... ;P

(UPDATE: NDTV has removed their own article out of embarrassment, so here's a link to a PDF copy of it.)

I wonder when will we get a legal notice :-))

We have criticized her and her stupid channel too many times. We have even given the channel varied names and acronym expansions :-)

The NDTV article seems to be gone! On clicking the link, I get a message: "We are sorry, but we were unable to service your request. You may wish to choose from the links below for the information you are looking for."

if you are in USA, then you will never get a notice. because maino et al know the mirchi they had from Mr.Kataria et. al from USA for the famous news paper ad in NY times during maino's visit to UN, three times she failed. so they cannot make US people or blogs as a scape goat.. but now, Burkha's activities are known by whole world!

You can read Barkha Dutt's defense of her Mumbai coverage here:

You can read the disputed Blog here:
http://www.naavi.org/cl_editorial_09/ckunte_blog.pdf

Going by the outrage expressed by critics through newspaper columns and blogs, among others, Newswatch decided to carry out a survey on what people thought of the reportage issue. The survey was conducted primarily over a web-based interface from December 3-6. The response was overwhelming. In all, 9,906 responses were selected for the analysis.
Some highlights of the survey results:
97 per cent said the high point was round-the-clock, extensive, coverage
74 per cent felt that the reportage-presentation was theatrical
73 per cent thought TV channels are goading the Indian government to go to war with Pakistan
Arup Ghosh and Shireen of NewsX were thought to be the most cool/best anchors/reporters
Barkha Dutt of NDTV was thought to be the most theatrical/worst anchors/reporters"
http://www.newswatch.in/research/2727

The disputed Blog captioned 'Shoddy Journalism' described how Barkha Dutt aired the hiding locations of the hostages live.
This would cause criminal action by the government and damages action by the victims' relatives, against NDTV and the reporter. Hence the threats to the blogger.

On clicking the second 'NDTV convergence link' the message displayed is - 'We are sorry, but we were unable to service your request. You may wish to choose from the links below for the information you are looking for.'

So it's Nehru Dynasty TeleVision after all. 'Silence/ murder' SP Mukherjis while encouraging crypto-jihadis like Sheikh/Farooq/Omar Abdullahs.

The concept of Bura dutt and prannoy roy being send to andaman or some such penitentiary sounds like every nationalist's wet dream.

Of course, for that, someone has to presecute them, which the UPA is not likely to do.

Why don't we 'encourage' some of the family members to sue NDTV for say Rs 500 crore?

Burkha's choice of words and ability to lie through her nose is as legendary as her choice in men. It's all right, let's just move ahead.
Burkha dutt is an epitome of what is wrong with India - the Dhimmi class.
