"NEW YORK -- India, one of the biggest investors in Afghanistan, believes there is no military solution to the conflict in that country and that NATO combat operations should give way to a political settlement with the Taliban, according to Indian Foreign Minister S.M. Krishna."

"He played down the findings of electoral fraud, noting the U.S. election fracas in Florida in 2000, saying, "It happens in every election, [that results are] questioned.""

Its ill informed BS that Afghanistan has never been conquered. Nobody ever wanted to. Nothing but rocks there. Who wants rocks? Afghanistan was however a gateway to India and all conquering armies only wanted was passage through to cross the Khyber. Maharaja Ranjit Singh's armies needed a buffer against Iran etc and also needed to keep the looting Pathans quiet. They were quite successful in this since they used methods those folks well understood. Ranjit Singh's generals Hari Singh Nalwa and Akali Phoola Singh were feared in those parts. So for our wimpish "leaders" to talk about sucking up to the jihadis is defeatist.

SM Krishna & co still cant get over the Nehruvian mindset of preaching peace to the world. The Taliban can and will be defeated and it can only be done militarily. But only after the real problem is identified and tackled head on i.e Pakistan.

Truly astounding prescription coming from the foreign minister of a nation that is the biggest victim of Jihadi terror. SM Krishna is the very definition of an imbecile Dhimmi. I'm afraid this fellow is fast turning out to be
Krishna Menon Mark 2.
