mayan calendar says 2012 will see the world end on the winter solstice?

oct 12th, 2009

maybe. but what's truly intriguing is that their calendar begins in 3114 BCE, very similar to the 3102 BCE start of the kali yuga. and they knew about the precession of the equinoxes, too.

if i were thapar/witzel, this would be enough for me to now claim the new "mayan invasion theory" (copyrighted). yes, mayans came to india and pretended to be "blond, tall, fair, handsome" 'aryans' thundering down the khyber pass in their horse-drawn chariots. those rogues, mayans! shame on them! trying to make up history, were they?

Well, they are believed to have independently invented the zero on their own as well.

Oh well, I'm not superstitious, but let's see what happens when the big day arrives. Will the markets factor in this pyschology?

More importantly, 2012 is also end of 11th 5 year plan.
