Hmmmmmm. I heard a speech given by Subramaniam Swamy in a temple outside Toronto, when the Ramsethu issue was really hot. Came away with the impression that the speech wasn't really inspiring, or particularly enlightening. And to top it off, when I queried him about Dharampal, he said he'd heard of Dharampal but hadn't read any of his books! How can anyone claim to speak for Hindu civilisation when he is not aware of Dharampal's findings that a democratic, welfare state existed in each Indian village as recently as the 1760s, courtesy of our shared Hindu past?
