Superstition is universal and not restricted to Hindus or any religious denomination. What is an act of faith for you, others can easily look down upon as blind superstition. That may really be the case too: Dhritarshtra loved Duryodhana, Priam loved Paris.

Such ridiculous acts occur across faiths.
