computers and software are inherently a) prone to random errors because the pathological corner cases have not been tested, b) much easier to tamper with and mess with if you have malice aforethought.
do not trust computers! and i say this as someone who worked on operating system internals, the heart of security. there is no such thing as a foolproof operating system, especially if it is an embedded system as in cars or voting machines.

As an accountant, I will defer to your expertise on embedded systems; however, the problems at Toyota are not software. In fact there is no actual problem at Toyota - this is a canard spread by the union thugs at UAW - with the Manchurian candiate president without balls to stand up to them.
