China's Corporate 'White-Tie' Events

The latest business fad in China is not the black-tie event, it's the white-tie event. Chinese businesses are renting caucasian people to make their businesses look more important or multi-national.

This is actually a very smart strategy. I respect the Chinese for thinking along these lines. They are much smarter than Indians. Chinese use white people and when they are done with them they shove them aside.

Indians on the other hand, being the sentimental fools that they are, will go the "extra mile" to "fit in" - change their religion, deny their heritage, have the fake white guy marry their daughter, say "gora-hindu bhai bhai!". Then the gora says - "hey dumb hindu! you mean YO MONEY MONEY BYE BYE!"

Then the Hindu feels very sad and emotional. Why did the gora treat me so badly? I let him inject my daughter, signed over my property to him...i feel so betrayed boo hoo.

I actually coordinated some business with a Chinese company and they did something that I really admired. They always kept the goras in the dark but they extracted 100% out of them. In one case, the Chinese company was having problems getting customers in the construction industry. So, what did they do? They created a fake brochure with a fake executive management team. All the executives were paid white models - older white actors who needed the money. They created a beautiful brochure and they even said that a European royal family owned a majority stake in the company! These guys were very smart.

The result was success. They got lots of orders. They broke through the door. When they got enough revenue, they sent a press release stating that the company had been sold to a Chinese company when all along it was owned by a Chinese company!

The thing which really impressed me - on the day they took the pictures with all the gora models, the Chinese businessmen were all smiles with the goras and the second after they paid them, they told them to get lost. They completely turned on a dime. No emotions. Just aiming for success the entire time.

Why the hell can't Indians be this way?
