china comes up with 'new kind of nuke'. any bets on how soon india will be buying these?

mar 25th, 2011 CE

given the 'guanxi', there'll be an outcry from china's national newspaper and the CPM for india to buy these reactors. they will manufacture plenty of 'evidence' on how this is the best thing since sliced bread.

and naturally, the chinese will offer plenty of incentives to the right people, in the form of quiet transfers to swiss accounts.

i won't be surprised if jaitapur sees a new reactor in the 'nuke park' of this chinese type any day now. after all, the french reactors there are also completely untested.

given the han willingness to make ups stuff, i am pretty sure this is like many other chinese-made things: will work for about 6 months and then fall apart.

ok here is a anti china joke.

An american gets married for the 4rth time. His bewildered colleagues ask him why his marriage fails every time. He replies "what to do. Each time I married a Chinese woman. They don't last long"

China certainly did not invent the Pebble Bed Nuclear Reactor, which was invented by the Germans.

Please note that the NYT is consistently anti-thorium, probably because they know it could tilt the balance of power towards countries like India. Now that they see all the furor against uranium accompanied by the rise in support for thorium, the NYT is determined to put out as much positive spin as possible for rival technologies, including Pebble Bed Reactors.

Things coming out of China have too much lead content. The guy should be dead by now.
