mar 23, 2011 CE

a link to a post five years ago: it is still valid today.

in these five years, what a fall it has been! india is now being compared to russia of the oligarchs!

this is from the FT (registration needed), forwarded by @chellaney. they say india is the new russia. how lovely!

WAGES OF CORRUPTION: Crony capitalism and weak governance threaten India’s long-term success:
http://goo.gl/...

here's an interview with a fund manager, jayant sinha, where he suggests the same:

you see, there was once an idea of india. that which bhagat singh, rajguru and sukhdev stood for.

now there's an idea of india: that which a raja, pj thomas and suresh kalmadi stand for. and the dynasty.

this is the long-term impact of the nehruvian penalty: inflation at 18% for food, terrorism rampant, india's people the most malnourished on the planet.

jai ho!
