Will ISI Head Roll Over Bin Laden Raid?

Will ISI Chief Shuja Pasha lose his job over the fallout from the Bin Laden affair? As tensions build up in the aftermath of the US attack, a sacrifice may be demanded.

guys, i believe we(Indians) are the ones loosing sleep over this. us-pak ties are rock solid tested by over 50 yrs of co-operation. please. osama was sold out to the US or the US felt they wanted to leave afghan and pulled him out of the woodworks for the public to justify their pull-out from afghan. any other explanation is total BS. Please.

1. never believe the official story
2. always follow the money trail or 'who benefits out of this?' trail

snk, agree with you about us-pak relationship. there could be another explanation: maybe he died a natural death and they then conducted a raid.

I think the US press is making this a tamasha....
Come on . ... Like the US, India knows Pakistan is a crook country and now US wants the world to believe "some elements" have protected OBL; All BS;
But of course, the English media in India will lap this up and demand we continue to have dialogue with this rougue neighbor
Sorry I dont buy it;

Why would Pak knowingly tip off the Americans on Bin Laden's hiding place, and allow a raid that would cause maximum embarrassment to Pakistan, and most particularly its Army/ISI?

This whole affair has been undeniably humiliating for the Pak Army/ISI, as well as Pakistan as a whole. There is a huge upsurge of grassroots American anger at Pakistan, its army, and the ISI.

If Pak did indeed permit the raid, why wouldn't they first want Bin Laden shifted to some Afghan location and killed there? Then Obama would have his prize/OctoberSurprise, and meanwhile Pakistan would suffer minimal fallout from BinLaden not having been caught on Pak territoy - 40 miles from Islamabad, and just hundreds of yards from their main national military academy!

If Pak really went along with this raid, then they really shot themselves in the foot. I don't believe it. I think they were really caught with their pants down - caught in the lies offered so blithely and routinely by their officials.

The jury is still out on exact Paki complicity here. If the tweeter could hear the sound of Helicopters, why not the Military next door? Pakis know that if the Al Qaeda decides, it can dismember Pakistan, with or without major weapons. I am with SNK on this. And for once, I am inclined to believe the Xinhua version on this.

Whatever be the story, it would be naive to expect Americans to stop weapons supply and other aid to Pakistan. There are enough Paki backers in the US Armed Forces, the same folks who successfully resisted any action on Paki nuclear program for decades.

yeah this was a daring operation by the US and Pakistan had no clue...From reports out there it seems highly unlikely that anybody in Pakistan knew about the extend and nature of the operation that was in the offing...

The Janus faced Pakistani officaldom is currently left with no answers..
of course the average "piss loving" Pakistani would peddle conspiracy theories...

But this incident is an example of US doing what it needs to do to show the world who the "boss" really is...

Of course we can all expect some new drama from ISI!!

if they capture Afg. and if US leaves Afg. under some pretext - mission accomplished or lets not get involved in civil war... then it kinda proves the point to some extent.

PS: I am just spewing borrowed thoughts. none of these are mine :)
