Media deliberately dividing people: PCI Chief

The Press Council of India rarely makes news. However, I am inclined to respect it's Chairman, a retired Supreme Court judge. Here's the transcript of his interview:

Very sensible statements. And something that I would definitely endorse:

Karan Thapar: But the generality of the media you believe is falling?

Justice Markandey Katju: The majority, I'm sorry to say, are of a very poor intellectual level, media people, I doubt whether they have any idea of economic theory or political science, philosophy, literature, I have grave doubts whether they are well read in all this, which they should be.

Of course, we all know what it means to be a journalist. To kiss the powerful guys ass because your morals are for sale. While newspaper managements seek to drive the subscriptions by any means, the real "investigative journalism" has seen a serious set back in this country.
