intriguing that romney's chances may well be determined by how nikki haley gets out vote in s carolina

romney, the leading republican candidate -- and one who is considerably less creepy than rick santorum or newt gingrich, and also more likely to win against obama if he gets the nomination -- may find that his road to the nomination is dependent on how well gov nikki randhawa haley (of indian origin) is able to get the vote out in south carolina.

i am not obsessing on the US elections, as it is a) a circus, b) makes no difference. however, romney's reversal of fortunes -- santorum, the bizarre bible-thumper, wins iowa? -- is certainly startling.

What do you think of Ron Paul?

i like a number of his libertarian positions about small government, but he is also a bit of a religious nut. i think the positions about no deficit financing, denying the govt the ability to print money (although he doesn't quite endorse a return to the gold standard) are pretty good.
