The BBC just allowed the vile Anish Kapoor, a wealthy sculptor to denounce Modi as a 'mass murderer' and both he and the low life and extremely suspect William Dalrymple airily dismissed his exoneration by the Indian Supreme Court.

I regret, Swapan Dasgupta's attempt to defend him was totally ineffective. Where were Smriti Irani and Meenakshi Lekhi, et. al. to silence them?

Please believe me, as someone who has done scores of BBC interviews in the past that this 'put up job' has been done at the instance of the British Foreign Office. I am no longer invited after I once reacted, in a live interview, to Musharraf calling Vajpayee a 'liar' by describing him as a 'traitor' for his coup d'etat.

When Mrs. Indira Gandhi was assassinated the BBC allowed a British Sikh separatist to announce: "one down a million to go". I believe the Indian Foreign Secretary at the time read the British High Commissioner to Delhi the riot act and left him shaken!
