NaMo's flight was close behind

I personally feel it is in Bharat's national interest to minimize NaMo's international air travel. The security of the person of Narendra bhai Modi is too valuable to the nation to risk.

There are other ranking officials and Union cabinet members who can be deputed on behalf of the P.M to represent the nation at international summits etc.

Many of these, the U.N in particular are merely glorified debating fora - and do not accomplish anything of utility.

This is my fear too and the likelihood of this happening is quite significant. I am reminded always of Omar Torrijos, commander of Panama and Jaime Roldós Aguilera, President of Ecuador, both of whom died in 1981 in plane crashes and find mention in John Perkins book, "Confessions of an Economic Hit Man."

Closer to home, we have Homi
Bhabha and Vikram Sarabhai who died in air "accidents". Netaji S.C Bose also supposedly died in an air crash, some speculate that he spent his last years in a Soviet Gulag. Prime Minister L.B Shastri also died under mysterious circumstances in Tashkent, Uzbekistan in the erstwhile USSR

Maybe instead of whining, we should spend on outfitting the PM's plane with counter measures against SAMs and hostile aircraft such as decoy missiles, chaff and anti-aircraft defenses. Last time I checked, the US president has not stopped flying Air Force One.
