In the wake of recent terror attacks, Prime Minister Modi has through his statements indicated that the Indus Water Treaty will be reviewed, saying that "blood and water cannot flow together". India has also suspended its participation in the bilateral Indus Water Treaty commission.

Pakistan is clearly rattled by this, and is issuing a variety of threats, from threatening to go the International Court of Justice at the Hague, to bellicosely threatening to wage a "water war" against India by military means.
