2018 Budget Focuses on Farmers & Poor

The Modi govt's 2018 budget, as announced by Sri Arun Jaitley, will mainly focus on rural farmers:

Great idea - their votes are needed to win the 2019 elections - but what should particularly be focused on is in shifting more farmers to manufacturing, which is more productive and less resource-intensive.

EDIT: There's something in there about Universal Healthcare too - I don't know how they'll be able to afford that. It'll be great for buying votes, but I don't see how it will be achievable. Let's see what Moody's says about that.

Oh well, as long as the 2019 elections can be won, then it buys more time to expunge the Congress. This budget may not be the most efficient path to growth, however.
